Charles J. Conroy is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm’s Corporate Group.
Primary Focus & Experience
Mr. Conroy has extensive experience in merger, acquisition and securities transactions. He has acted for many US and multinational companies with respect to their acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and joint ventures. Recent transactions have focused on the technology outsourcing, chemical, financial services, telecommunications and energy sectors.
Recognition & Accomplishments
Mr. Conroy has written and spoken widely on corporate and securities transactions, and also on the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation as it relates to domestic and foreign issuers. His writings have appeared in the New York Law Journal, The International Financial Law Review, The National Law Journal and the Stanford Journal of International Law.
Mr. Conroy spent the early years of his career in Hong Kong and Beijing. While practicing in Beijing, he also taught at the Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade for a year. Upon his return to the United States in 1987, he also taught a course on Chinese commercial law at the Columbia Law School for four years.
Mr. Conroy was recently named to the “BTI Client Service All-Star Team,” an exclusive list of individuals nominated and recognized by clients for superior client service.
He serves on the Board of the National Committee on US-China Relations and is a member of the New York State Bar and the American Bar Association. Mr. Conroy is also a member of the City Bar Association of New York and has served on its sub-committee on Asian Affairs.
While at Columbia Law School, he was a writer and research editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law.
