Brittany Akins is an associate in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group. 

Primary Focus & Experience

Ms. Akins’ practice focuses on federal and state court litigation of complex commercial matters involving corporate law, contract law and financial restructuring.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Ms. Akins received her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Rochester. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa during her junior year and served on its executive board. Ms. Akins was the recipient of the Iota Book Award presented by the University of Rochester’s Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, recognizing her outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, and the Mary B. Ascher Political Science Award, which is given to the outstanding political science major in the junior class.

Ms. Akins earned her J.D. at the University at Buffalo Law School, where she participated in a Women, Children and Social Justice Clinic. During her second year of law school, Ms. Akins served as a legal intern in the Domestic Violence Unit of the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office in Rochester, NY.

Ms. Akins is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association.
