Atara Miller is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group.
Primary Focus & Experience
Ms. Miller’s practice focuses on federal and state court litigation of complex commercial matters, in addition to bankruptcy-related litigation. She has represented individual and corporate clients in a wide range of matters involving international law, securities law and corporate governance. Recently, Ms. Miller has been actively representing Broadcast Music, Inc., a music performing rights organization with more than 475,000 affiliated composers, writers and publishers, in a rate-setting proceeding against the local television industry in federal district court. In the financial restructuring sphere, she has defended individual lenders and lender groups against fraudulent transfer claims and has prosecuted fraudulent misrepresentation claims on behalf of secured lenders. Ms. Miller has been involved in several groundbreaking bankruptcy-related litigations, including representing the Transeastern defendants in a $500 million fraudulent transfer case in In re TOUSA.
Recognition & Accomplishments
Ms. Miller has spoken on numerous occasions about recent developments in fraudulent transfer actions, including serving on the 2010 panel of “Hot Topics in Bankruptcy Litigation” hosted by the New York City Bar Association.
Ms. Miller graduated from McGill University with great distinction.
